These terms cover the Wildwater app, playwildwater.com and related services provided by Metatheory Inc. (“we” or “us”). By using Wildwater, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Questions: support@metatheory.gg.

1. Who can use Wildwater

Wildwater is intended for people aged 13 or older. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use Wildwater, and that parent or guardian must agree to these terms. You are responsible for your device, internet access when needed, rowing equipment and permission to use that equipment. Access to a private beta is subject to availability and does not guarantee acceptance, continued access or a public release date.

2. The rowing experience

Wildwater provides guided indoor-rowing entertainment and workout timing. You choose your workout, effort and equipment. Heart-rate guidance, age-derived estimates, narrative events and virtual progress are not medical advice, diagnosis, a tested maximum heart rate, measured rowing power or a promise of improved fitness. A VO₂ max training goal is not a VO₂ max measurement.

Use equipment according to its instructions and place your phone where it does not interfere with exercise. Choose exercise appropriate to your circumstances and seek qualified advice when you are unsure. Stop exercising if you feel unwell or experience concerning symptoms. Story prompts and virtual events never require you to ignore discomfort or exceed your intended effort. Do not rely on Wildwater or a connected monitor for emergency detection.

3. Guest use, accounts and your records

Guest use does not require a Wildwater account. Local data can be lost if a device is lost, reset or the app is removed. In account-enabled versions, you may sign in with an offered identity provider and request cloud backup. You must use an identity you are authorized to use. Keep your provider account and device secure, and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.

A local save and a confirmed cloud backup are different. Check the app's backup status, and keep an export if you need an independent copy. We work to preserve records, but the private beta is not a guaranteed archival service. Do not remove your only copy while a backup is pending. Account linking and guest-history adoption require your explicit actions; matching email addresses do not automatically combine accounts.

You may stop using Wildwater at any time. Account-enabled versions offer Settings & Backup → Delete account, with confirmation and ownership verification. Our Privacy policy explains what deletion removes, what remains and how to request help. Deleting your account or app does not cancel a separate store subscription.

4. Private beta, availability and changes

The current private beta is free; paid checkout is disabled. Features, journeys and supported device combinations may change, fail or be unavailable. We may modify or discontinue beta features and limit access for security, abuse, legal or operational reasons. Where practical and required, we will explain material changes and give an opportunity to export records. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, compatibility with every rower or heart-rate monitor, a particular release schedule or any fitness result.

If paid features are offered later, prices, renewal terms, trial conditions and cancellation information will be presented before purchase. These terms do not enroll you in a subscription or authorize a charge. Purchases through Apple or Google would also be subject to the relevant store's terms and applicable consumer rights.

5. Permission to use the app

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to use Wildwater for its intended purpose, subject to these terms and the applicable store license. We and our licensors retain rights in the app, river artwork, guide audio, software and branding. You retain rights you have in information you provide; you allow us to process it as needed to deliver your requested service under the Privacy policy.

Do not interfere with the service, bypass access controls, attempt unauthorized access to another person's records, distribute malware, misuse provider credentials, or copy/resell our protected content without permission. This does not restrict activities that applicable law expressly permits. If you provide feedback, we may use the ideas to improve Wildwater without an obligation to compensate you; personal information remains subject to our Privacy policy.

6. Third parties and privacy

Apple, Google, device manufacturers, hosting providers and other third parties operate their own services. Their terms and privacy policies may also apply when you use them. We do not control third-party availability or sensor accuracy. See our Privacy policy for the information Wildwater processes, optional analytics and your choices.

7. Responsibility and limitations

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the private beta is provided as available without additional promises of uninterrupted operation, suitability for a particular purpose or error-free results. To the extent the law permits, Metatheory is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses caused by using or being unable to use the service.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable rights concerning fraud, gross negligence, personal injury or mandatory consumer protections. You keep all rights that applicable law gives you. These terms do not require arbitration or waive a right to bring a claim that you otherwise have.

8. Ending access and resolving concerns

We may restrict access when necessary to address a material breach, security issue or legal requirement. Contact support@metatheory.gg to raise a concern, request account assistance or discuss a restriction. Ending access does not eliminate applicable privacy rights or mandatory legal remedies.

9. Updates and contact

We may update these terms as the service changes. We will post the revised date and give notice of material changes where required; consent will be requested where the law requires it. New paid terms will be presented before a purchase. If you disagree with an update, you may stop using the service and request deletion of your account.
